Boyd's Corner Road from Cedar Lane Road to US13

Project Limits:

Proposed roadway improvements extend east along Boyds Corner Road (SR896) from Cedar Lane Road to approximately 500-feet west of US13 (Boyds Corner).

Project Need:

As a result of the planned development and the projected increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the Southern New Castle County area. DelDOT has started the process to make roadway improvement for multiple roadways in this area. Funding for the improvements will include Federal, State and private developer contributions.

Project Overview:

Planned improvements include conversion of the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with 11-foot travel lanes; a 26-foot raised median; 8-foot shoulders; and a ten foot wide bicycle/pedestrian path. Additional signalization for future commercial and residential intersections will also be included.

Current Project Schedule:

DelDOT currently has completed preliminary plans for the improvements and will engineer final plans once funding becomes available.

Anticipated Start Date:

To be determined.
